Procrastination and Fear

by Christopher on November 4, 2009

I just ordered Brain Tracy’s “Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time.”

Luckily, I don’t really have a habitual problem with procrastination, but if I get scared, I start to avoid things, even though I know reality is my best friend and ally in my life.

Anyway, for reasons and for details I won’t reveal, I’ve been quite busy turning my life upside down and inside out in order to take my acting to the next level, and I’ve been scared to death — but I’ve been doing it, and against a headwind of considerable fear. Fear of what, honesty, really, madly, truly, I don’t know — what else is life for? I’ve been trying to make a shift from feeling threat and fear to feeling excited and confidently challenged.

Brain Tracy starts out my — or anyone’s — journey out on just the right note:

This is a wonderful time to be alive. There have never been more possibilities and opportunities for you to achieve more of your goals than exist today.
